Several weeks ago, the Holy Spirit began a dialogue with me concerning
the next stage of our lives and ministry. The end of 2014 will mark the
completion of seven years for me back in The Dalles and my 60th birthday. I know new beginnings are on the way. I’m not
sure how it will all play out, but I am confident that the author and finisher
of our faith will lead Jan and I in the journey. I know there are both natural things and
spiritual things that will be accomplished in the next 18 months. The Spirit
has given me insight into some of what will be happening and I’d appreciate
your prayers for us as we go forward. I want to finish my Masters in Biblical
Studies degree. That shouldn’t be a problem, but I have to get in a research
mode. I’m used to study mode, but research mode is a bit more tedious. I also know that we will be scaling WAY down.
To look at what we have you would think we were already scaled down, but there
is more to go. Although I love the raku
and other art pieces I’ve collected, I’m thinking most of them will be gifted for
others to enjoy. I started this process a few years ago with a few pieces and
will continue as the Lord leads me. The library will likely see the same fate. I
don’t know if this paring down is just for the sake of a more simplistic
lifestyle (Lord, can it get any simpler?) or in preparation for smaller living
quarters in our next stage of ministry. Time will tell. Spiritually, I feel the
move from wide to deep. Can’t really tell you what that means other than a metamorphosis
is at hand. I don’t know what it will look like on the other side of the cocoon,
but although caterpillars are nice, butterflies can fly! I feel more power and
authority in the realm of the Spirit is coming our way. I know that will only come with humility and
God’s abundant grace in our lives. Thanks
for your prayers.
Our Mission and Vision
“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: (Eph 4:11-12 KJV).
We purpose to build disciples of Jesus Christ by empowering people to walk out the Gospel and impact the world around them. Our vision is to gather, shepherd, encourage, confirm, and release into ministry those individuals God joins with us, as well as to develop, establish and oversee foundational expressions of Christian worship, training, prayer, and service.
